About the residence
The purpose of the residency is to carry out and/or pursue to completion an artistic project that may involve up to two artists (already working in pairs) for 10 weeks. This project consists of working on a series of works.
The residency will be followed by a public and virtual restitution in a form to be defined according to health conditions.
The selected artist(s) will benefit:
the use of a private workshop
a curatorial support
coaching, communication and promotional actions.
They will be engaged in local activities to diffuse contemporary creation to the public (workshop visits, creative sessions...).
Duration: from 10 April to 25 June 2021.
Place: Atelier Jendalmart
Located in Dakar aux Mamelles,
the workshop is an ideal place
to creation and inspiration dedicated to artists of 20m2
fitted out with a view of the Lighthouse and the Monument of the African Renaissance.
Conditions:
To be an artist over 18 years old
Residing in Senegal during the period
Proof of artistic experience (3 exhibitions minimum)
Present a project of 2 pages maximum preferably in written form, or even audio (mention the number of works to be produced)
Selection
The selection committee will meet during the first week of April before the anouncement of the selection. The relevance of the artistic project submitted is essential.
Any additional information required to evaluate the applications may be requested before the final selection is announced on 5 April 2021.
